Fair Isle 101 (3 hours)
with Nancy Shroyer | All Skill Levels

Long ago and far away on a small island off the northern coast of Scotland lived some knitters who raised the bar on 2 color stranded work. Learn how their techniques helped to make the work go faster and easier while you knit a headband. Continental knitting, corrugated ribbing, catching floats will all be covered as well as the history of Fair Isle Knitting.



Crochet with Beads (3 hours)
with Daniela Nii | All Skill Levels

You don’t need to be an expert to add beads and sparkle to your crochet work! Come and learn about what you can do with beads and crochet, how to choose your beads, and how and where to place your beads with the different stitches for various effects.



Macramé Wall Hanging (3 hours)
with Grace Gulley | Beginner

Learn the foundations of hand knotting to make macrame wall hangings. During the course of three hours all students will be fully immersed and learn knotting techniques that are thousands of years old. Work with natural fibers and leave with your own unique wall hanging. 



Longwool Love (6 hours)
with Kate Larson | All Skill Levels

Longwool breeds of sheep produce lustrous locks that range from the bold, full curls of the Lincoln to the fine, corkscrew locks of the Bluefaced Leicester. Learn about the history of these breeds and the types of fleece characteristics to look for, as well as what to avoid. Delve into longwools with a range of fleece samples to try, as well as dyed locks, carded rovings, and combed tops.



Beginning Shuttle Tatting (3 hours)
with Daniela Nii | Intermediate

Learn the basics of traditional shuttle tatting and learn how to form chains, rings and picots to join motifs. Become familiar with typical tatting instruction types so that you can successfully explore the fascinating world of tatting.



Log Cabin Scarf (6 hours)
with Deborah Jarchow | Skill Level: Intermediate

Learn to make a stunning scarf in the beautiful log cabin pattern using the rigid heddle loom. You can learn to create a wonderful woven piece that looks complicated but is really very easy. If you’ve taken beginning rigid heddle weaving, enhance your skills. This type of weaving is portable, easy and fun!
