Natural wonders around every corner!
Lace up your hiking boots, and explore 71 acres of trails lined with wildlife including Canada geese, red foxes, black-tailed deer and plenty of other creatures.
The snowy peak of Mt. Rainier can be enjoyed from afar while sipping a piping-hot espresso at one of Tacoma’s many coffee shops and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore this natural wonder up close. Mount Rainier National Park offers hiking and biking trails, train rides, educational tours, flower discovery tours and more!
This massive 760-acre stretch of nature and attractions offers unbeatable water views, beaches, lush forests, and it’s located at the unique triangular-shaped tip of Tacoma. But there’s more than just hiking at this park. It’s also home to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium–a popular activity for all ages.
Fuel your artsy inspiration!
This is your chance to get an up close look at magnificent glass art from around the world. You can even watch live glass blowing demonstrations! The delicate, colorful and bold masterpieces found in this museum are sure to leave you inspired and ready to create jewelry art. Don’t have time to visit the museum? No worries! You can see iconic glass artist and Tacoma native, Dale Chihuly’s jaw-dropping glass bridge from all over the city.
After you visit the Museum of Glass, head over to the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM), and venture through their latest exhibitions and permanent installations.
“Tacoma Art Museum serves the diverse communities of the Northwest through its collection, exhibitions, and learning programs, emphasizing art and artists from the Northwest and broader western region.” –TAM
