Well friends, it’s finally March! We’re looking forward to all this month has to offer for a variety of reasons. For starters, it marks the beginning of spring (hurry up, March 20!). Secondly, the entire month is dedicated to creativity and making your own art (hey, National Craft Month!). And last but not least, the moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here. Interweave Yarn Fest is just weeks away!
It’s getting harder to contain our excitement for IYF. After all, we’re ready to learn, shop, see old friends and meet all of you! Of course the entire IYF experience will be unforgettably delightful, but we’re especially excited about the demos coming to the Fiber Spotlight Pavilion and the chance to have a few books and DVDs signed by our favorite authors!
Fiber Spotlight Pavilion
The educational excitement never ends at IYF and the Fiber Spotlight Pavilion is proof of that! Keep soaking up knowledge from your favorite instructors, top exhibitors and fiber experts from across the nation. Each demo will take only 30 minutes of your time, so sit back, relax and sample loads of techniques, products and industry processes all in one place!
Here’s a taste of the demos you’ll be enjoying.
- “Presto Chango! Using fingering weight yarn to Knit Worsted and Bulky”
We all love beautiful hand-dyed skeins of fingering weight yarn, but what if we also want a pattern for worsted or bulky yarn? Come learn a fast and easy technique for turning your fingering weight yarn into different weights. You are welcome to bring different sized needles and a center pull ball of fingering weight yarn if you’re up for a knit-along.
- If you love a good skein with a fascinating story, you’ll want to get the scoop on the newly launched and very popular, “Legacy Yarn club”. Unearth the benefits of becoming a subscriber, and learn about the club’s shipments, themes and pricing options.
- Enjoy a mini lecture about fiber variations and the production process that goes into creating specialty fiber. Jefferson Farms will fill you in on how they manage, harvest and compare their fibers. And as a special bonus, they will be chatting about Paco-Vicuna, a new luxury fiber, as well as comparing it to other luxury fibers.
More info will be posted on our website soon!
