May’s Blog Post Roundup

Interweave Spotlight

Lovely and lightweight, we love this pretty piece from the “Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Something Knitted Just For You!” blog post from Interweave!

We’re just a few weeks away from the official start of summer (cue the confetti!), and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than sharing some sweet, summery inspirations with all of you!

While some may hear “fiber art” and automatically picture a Fair Isle sweater and mug of hot chocolate (not going to lie, that sounds heavenly right now!), some of us just love a good knit, even when the sun is scorching hot.

Over on Interweave’s amazing blog, we found some projects and inspirational posts that will keep you cool as a cucumber, even on the hottest summer days. If you’re ready to get your creative juices flowing, keep on reading!

How cute is the Wildflower Necklace Kit by Knit Collage!?

Wildflower Necklaces: A Beautiful Fabric Yarn Dream

One of our favorite ways to wear fiber art in the summer is to create a fun, lightweight accessory. Interweave recently featured this darling knitted necklace pattern from Knit Collage, and it gives you two options: the Braided Necklace and the Sailor Knot Necklace. Since this necklace features a chunky knit, it gives the same effect as a scarf, but without the weight. Now our biggest dilemma is choosing from all of this kit’s great color options!

Cute and practical, we love this summer tank from Knitscene’s new issue!

POW: Time-Out Tank by Nadya Stallings

When the weather gets warm, a lot of fun outdoor yoga and pilates classes start popping up everywhere! It feels great to get a good workout in, but it feels even better when you’re wearing a cute, hand-knitted tank top! We love the sweet and sporty knitted tank Interweave showcased from the Knitscene summer 2017 issue, and we definitely recommend checking out the entire digital issue for even more terrific tanks!

POW: Hippolyta’s Cover-up

For all of our fashion girls (and guys!) out there, you know that a fun cover-up is essential for any summer beach vacation. We’ve noticed a lot of chic crochet and knitted cover-ups popping up on our Instagram feeds, but instead of buying one, we encourage you to create one yourself! Lacy and lightweight, this elegant cover-up could also be layered over a tank and shorts for those chilly evening strolls along the shore. You’ll find Hippolyta’s Cover-up by Lena Zharichenko along with many other gorgeous summer projects in Interweave Knits Summer 2017 Digital Edition!
