Sarah Jessica Parker

Ever since her Carrie Bradshaw days, SJP has been known as a fabulous fashion icon. Who could resist her full skirts and Manolo Blahnik heels in Sex and the City?! Somewhere along the way, this style star picked up a knack for knitting and she has been known to practice her craft on set and in front of the television as a way to unravel after a long day.

I read, watch TV, or knit. But I try to knit and watch TV at the same time, which means I end up with many dropped stitches.” –SJP, in an interview with Good Housekeeping

Kurt Cobain

Can you believe the late Nirvana frontman was a crochet enthusiast? This one definitely took us by surprise, but it goes to show that even musical legends enjoy immersing themselves in fiber crafts. Perhaps his passion for crochet was the reason he loved sporting his iconic cardigans and striped sweaters.

Marilyn Monroe

She made her name as one of Hollywood’s original bombshells, but the blonde beauty had a special hobby when she wasn’t wooing her on-screen costars. She was an avid knitter! Not only did Marilyn love the art of knitting, she also had a fondness for hand-knit pieces created by others. Marilyn famously wore a handmade knitted beige cardigan in one of her last photo shoots at Santa Monica Beach. It has been reported that Ripley’s Believe it or Not purchased the famous cardigan and it carried a whopping price tag of $167,500.
